Our Successes
Provided an informal networking environment where business people can meet and support each other, sharing knowledge and expertise to help each other’s businesses and referred work to each other
Organised four successful careers exhibitions now known as ‘The Big KISS’ in Congleton, which has now become part of the Borough’s event calendar, the last event had 500+ attendees.
Provided free training for local businesses in food safety, marketing on a budget and conflict management.
Developed and delivered a programme to help people prepare for work or learning opportunities, 100+ participants in the last year. 80% of people went on to achieve their goals.
Worked closely with schools and colleges in the area, working on many projects to help bridge the gap between education and employment.
Support other ideas and events to help connect, skills, employment and learning i.e. 11 million take over day – placements found for people who would not normally have the opportunity.
The "Conflict Handling Workshop" is an example of an excellent benefit to us all for attending.
The Congleton KISS group won a 2009 Congleton Borough Business Award ‘Special Achievement’.

Carol is a well-rounded HR professional and passionate about the development of organisations through their people, concentrating of innovative ways of achieving ‘best fit’ rather than relying on ‘best practice’. Building strong relationships at all levels, it is often said that she has a natural talent for bringing out the best in people. Thriving on challenge she has gained a wealth of HR knowledge and experience in many industries both at strategic and operational level.

Passionate about personal development, Carol works as a part time Tutor at Macclesfield College on the CIPD Human Resource Practice Programme, having this year re-designed the programme to meet the new CIPD standards. She has developed a very successful ‘Preparing for Work Programme’ which helps people to build skills and confidence to help them find work and/or live a more fulfilling life, 80% of attendees achieved their aims. This programme is free to attendees as it is funded by local government.
Carol is also a Registered Investors in People Specialist Assessor with Investors in People North West looking after a wide range of clients varying in size and sector.
Encouraging a ‘joined up approach’ Carol founded and Chairs the KISS Group (Knowledge, Information Sharing and Support) which was set up to help to bridge the gap between employment and education and at the same time provide a learning opportunities for local people and businesses. Members include local businesses, Business Link, Job Centre Plus, Connexions, Colleges, Schools, Chamber of Commerce, Disability Information Bureau, Bromley Farm Trust.
Carol also works on a voluntary basis on the Board for several organisations, including: Cheshire and Warrington Economic Alliance Private Skills Board National Enterprise Academy in Manchester
