Peter Aston, Owner and Director of Concept 2 Fulfilment – C2FLimited & Chair of Congleton Sustainability Group.
WHEN Did you join KISS? / How long have you been involved with the group?
I joined KISS in September 2009 and I have been to most meetings since!
ABOUT Tell us about your organisation, what it sells/does and how long it has been running.
C2F supports entrepreneurial organisations, usually in the environmental products sector, working with them to commercialise their ideas, help them raise funding and deliver products into the marketplace. It has existed since 2002. Its main projects have been in diesel emissions control technology companies working to take the black smoke out of diesel engines, but also with active noise control systems, packaging companies and the like.
I Chair Congleton Sustainability Group (CSG) one of 6 sub-groups of the Congleton Partnership. CSG has a passion for creating and ‘up-skilling’ local businesses, hence the reason for my involvement. Lots more about CSG at http://www.mybeartown.co.uk/congleton_sustainability.htm
DONATIONS Tell us what you have donated to the KISS group over the period of you membership. This can included giving up your own time or work you have done for the KISS group at events such as the BIG KISS etc.
I work with KISS primarily through my work with the local community.
WHY/BENEFITS Tell us why you joined the KISS group, why you are still involved in its activities and what benefits being a member of the group has brought you.
I joined KISS after Carol made a presentation of the 2009 BIG KISS to the Congleton Partnership because she described a grassroots organisation working hard to break through the usual bureaucratic treacle to create jobs and businesses in the Town. Clearly that is a key challenge that I am involved in through my work with CSG and like minds...
KISS involvement has introduced me to several people that I have gone on to work with successfully. Through KISS I have learned a great deal about social and business networking. My recently graduated jobless daughter enjoyed a KISS organised ‘back to work’ course and now has 2 jobs, one of which is working with a member of KISS! I’ve stayed with KISS because they are a great crowd always seeking new ways to break down barriers and get new jobs and new businesses for the town!
